Loss of Confidence in the currently elected Chief.

A letter from Council, October 21, 2024

Statement of Concern Regarding Martina Volfová and Liard First Nation Leadership

Statement from concerned LFN members, October 23, 2024

Letter from LFN Chief to DDC Leadership

Letter from the currently elected chief to the Daylu Dena Council leadership, November 15, 2024.

The letter is raising nonspecific concerns around “interference in LFN administration.”

Statement from Tseskį̄ze on events of the same day:
The letter in question is vague and lacks specific details or incidents, making it difficult to properly assess the concerns raised.

Today, Nov.15 at approximately 1:35pm, the currently elected LFN Chief, along with the Executive Director and the HR Director, arrived at our office unannounced and demanded access to our employee contracts. This action raises serious concerns about the Chief's disregard for the principle of separation between governance and administration. By directly intervening in our department's internal operations, the Chief undermines the autonomy of the administration.

Additionally, we are deeply concerned about the state of our personnel files. The fact that some are missing or incomplete is troubling, as these files are meant to be confidential and securely maintained. Any tampering or mishandling of these records should be taken very seriously and warrants a thorough investigation.

It is also important to highlight that LFN and DDC are, in fact, the same First Nation—our status cards all begin with the same identifier, 502. This division between the two entities needs to end. We are one community, and it is essential that we operate as such, united rather than fragmented.
